I got my driver’s license in America around 3 years ago.
It came at a time when the world shut down and I was in the middle of a life sitch that hit me outta nowhere.
Driving helped me heal.
It was freeing, liberating, unchaining. But also oddly confining, introspective and strenuous.
It was exactly what I needed.
So here I am, hoping to drive again across the breadth of this country, for a cause bigger than me.
Sakhi (not Sakshi :)), is a 34 yr old non-profit organization that represents the South Asian diaspora in an intersectional, intergenerational, survivor-led movement for gender justice. Sakhi primarily serves women survivors of South Asian descent - this includes those who trace their origins to Bangladesh, the Caribbean, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the larger South Asian diaspora. Sakhi creates a system that operates at individual, cultural, and systemic levels to dismantle the root causes of violence.
Any donation you make would mean the world to me. <3
Thank you!
