Saint Michael’s Parish in Orland Park has been a source of religion and community for me my whole life. Between attending weekly services on Sunday to working through religious education to get confirmed and receive communion, I thought it was only right that I pay back to the church through the works of my Eagle project. My Eagle Scout Service Project is all about adding onto and improving the church garden into a nicer place for praying, meeting, and providing a nice place to relax in nature with the presence of God. This will be done by planting new flowers and shrubs that can provide color and help the bees and other beneficial insects, installing solar lights to light up the path, adding new mulch for better plant growth and a cleaner look, and installing a wooden bench with a backrest for the people visiting the garden. Every penny that is contributed will be used to buy the necessary items required to complete this project, such as plants, mulch, solar lights, and the bench. Any extra funds will be donated to Saint Michael’s Parish. Regardless of how big or small, your contribution will help to make this project a reality. Besides helping me obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, your contribution will also leave a long lasting impact on St Michaels and to all the people who come to attend worship here in the future.
