Saffron project: ₹50,000 grant for each farmer
The Kohinoor Club is dedicated to creating opportunities for the less fortunate by identifying innovative and sustainable ventures. Recognizing the potential of saffron indoor farming as a highly profitable business in Punjab, the organization is committed to generating employment, especially for women, in flower processing and saffron harvesting.
In Punjab, many Non-Resident Indian (NRI) homes remain unoccupied, presenting an opportunity to repurpose these spaces into production facilities for saffron. As a charitable organization, the Kohinoor Club supports deserving young farmers and entrepreneurs in establishing vertical indoor farms. These initiatives are designed to cultivate a new generation of leaders in the saffron industry, driving local job creation and economic growth.
A 200 sq. ft. farming space has the potential to generate an income of approximately ₹600,000 annually, while larger production areas can yield millions. To kickstart these ventures, the Kohinoor Club provides a grant of ₹50,000 to each farmer, enabling them to purchase seeds or hire professional consultants. Through this initiative, the Kohinoor Club aims to empower communities, foster economic development, and build a brighter future for Punjab.
