We have a 5 year old son, Andrew, who is diagnosed non-verbal autistic. He is a fun loving beautiful child who just wants to enjoy the world. Unfortunately to a fault. After numerous escapes from the house, we have added locks and alarms to the doors, and the gates have always had a lock on them. Recently he has learned to climb the fence to escape. He is unable to communicate who he is, where he's from, and how to get home. He is unable to swim, and with a river nearby, this causes great concern. Drivers speed down our street and he has little regard for motorists. Furthermore, our fencing is old, decaying, rusted and sharp. It has the great potential to cause harm. We have come to a point that we need help with this. My wife and I are both disabled veterans on a very fixed income and do not have the money for renovation.
Funds will be used for removal of old fencing, installation of a new 6 foot wooden fence, as well as 2 new lockable gates. All excess funds will be donated to The National Autism Association. Thank you all for your consideration, and bless you.
