Safety Buddy for Brayden
Donation protected
Brayden, 6 years old next month, was diagnosed with autism shortly before his 2nd birthday. Once a toddler who could talk, Brayden is now classified as “severe” on the spectrum. He is no longer able to speak or judge the safety of his surroundings. Worried about his safety and concerned for his increasing sensory needs, his family began the long and difficult process of applying for an autism service dog through Autism Service Dogs of America (ASDA). Not all children with autism benefit from a service dog and ASDA has to be sure they are a good fit before beginning the 2-year individualized training.
After completing the extensive application process, Laura and Chad, Brayden’s mom and dad, were thrilled to find out that Brayden had qualified and been chosen to receive an autism service dog. The dog will be trained specifically to work with Brayden, to respond to his “talker” and commands from Brayden’s parents. However, the cost of the dog and training is $13,500 and is not covered by medical insurance.
Please consider helping this family of 7 provide this safety and comfort for Brayden. All funds donated will go directly to ASDA to fund the training of Brayden’s dog. For more information or to make a tax-deductible donation directly to ASDA, please visit autismservicedogsofamerica.com and include “Brayden Eiler” in the note/comment section.
