Deep in the remote rainforest of Papua, Indonesia — two young girls are waiting for someone to say: "You matter. We believe you."
Their Story
In the heart of the interior jungles of Papua — one of the most remote areas on earth, accessible only by small aircraft — two young girls endured trauma and abuse.
In 2024, two sisters were traumatized by those supposed to protect them, then threatened and hit for talking about it.
The older sister was 13 years old when it first happened. The younger was only 11. They reported the abuse to a teacher — and were met with silence. Then threats. Then physical violence from community members who told them to keep quiet.
For over a year, these children carried this secret alone. When Arrows for the Nation took over care of their dormitory we heard of this abuse and began to act the same day to look further into it.
We discovered that there is abuse and that these girls need to be relocated and counseled and given an educational oportunity in another city under the safe care of someone trustworthy. So this Go Fund Me was started to make this process doable.
Who We Are:
We are Arrows for the Nation (Busur Bagi Bangsa in Indonesian), an Indonesian foundation committed to child protection and community ministry in Papua. We aim to focus on those left behind and forgotten, the most vulnerable of Papua's interior jungles.

In January–February 2026, our lead investigator traveled deep into the Papua interior — through remote airstrips, difficult terrain, and genuine personal risk — to reach these children, hear their testimonies, and begin the process of accountability and healing.
Our investigator sat with them on the floor of their home. She played games with them. She administered psychological assessments. She filed a formal police report. She did not give up on them.
The psychological assessment confirmed what we feared:
✔Without urgent intervention, the risk of long-term PTSD, adolescent depression, and permanent relational trust disorders is very high.
Our plan is to safely escort both children out of village where they experienced the trauma and relocate them to a safe place to receive counseling and after-care and education.

What Your Donation Will Cover:
Every dollar you give goes directly toward these 2 childen and not towards any overhead or staff pay, etc. Aside from whatever bank fee there is (and I can over this out-of-pocket if needed though I am empty) all the funds will go towards a long-term plan and education for these 2 girls:
✔ ✈️ Airfare to transport the children and their escort from the remote village to the coast via small aircraft and commercial airlines across multiple legs of travel
✔ One week of accommodation on the coast for the children and our project leader.
✔ Intensive trauma-informed counseling sessions — building safety, restoring self-worth, and beginning the healing process
✔ Practical preparation and enrollment support for junior high school and fees
✔ Identification and training of a local mentor who will provide ongoing support to the children throughout their schooling
✔ Daily meals and ground transportation for the duration of the project
Total Project Budget: USD 3,500
This is not a large amount. But for these two girls, it is very important.
Why This Is So Hard — And Why It Matters So Much:
The region where these children live has no police presence. The roads don't exist — only small planes and rivers. Outside organizations were aware of the abuse and chose to do nothing. The teachers who knew stayed silent out of fear. Community leaders actively ordered the children not to speak.
The security situation has since worsened: a violent armed attack in the area has made it impossible for our team to return directly. This is precisely why we need to bring the children out — to safety — rather than sending more people in.
These children survived something devastating. Then they survived a system that failed them. They are still surviving — but they need us to act now, before their wounds become permanent.
A Note on Transparency
The names and identifying details of these children have been withheld to protect their safety and dignity. Full documentation of this case — including field investigation reports, psychological assessments, and police filings — exists and is available to verified partners and donors upon request.
We are a registered Indonesian foundation (Yayasan). We operate with full accountability. Every expenditure in this project is documented and reported.
