SAFE-T for Domestic Violence Survivors

A huge "Thank You" to everyone who donated!

As part of our Social Entrepreneurship class at UNT in Denton, Nicole Solis and I have partnered with SAFE-T Crisis Center, a 501(c)3 organization, as part of our class crowdfunding initiative. We hope to subsidize an invaluable resource for young women and families all over North Texas. We are using GoFundMe to raise $500 to assist SAFE-T Crisis Center in their mission. $500 funds hotel rooms for clients, gas money for clients in need, and Christmas items for clients and their children.

Safe-T provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. They support survivors and their families by providing education, resources, and shelters to help them build a better life for themselves and their loved ones.

1 in 3 Texans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Girls between the ages of 16 and 24 are the most at-risk. SAFE-T Crisis Center provides an emergency shelter for victims, a 24-hour Crisis Hotline and housing assistance. SAFE-T also provides resources such as legal assistance and women’s support groups to aid survivors on their healing journey. Lastly, SAFE-T is taking steps to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault by offering in-school programs, weekly seminars, and other awareness programs.
