Storm Lala flooded the area where I was living and took out the bridge access to the property. The bridge is still under construction, and from what I have been told, it is unsafe. Since losing access, I have been displaced and trying to figure out where I can safely stay while also recovering from major surgery.
I am in week 4 of recovery from an emergency hysterectomy that was done to remove cancer. I was recently put up in a hotel until the 15th, but after that my options have been incredibly hard: moving into a mold-infested hale in the jungle, going back to sleeping in my truck, or trying to get into transitional housing if they have room. Because of Lahaina, those spaces have been full and not accepting new people.
Day to day, I am struggling to get through recovery without a stable place to rest. I have been couch surfing and sleeping in my truck while trying to heal, look for a better place to live, and manage the stress of everything happening at once.
The funds from this fundraiser will help me with truck repairs, finding safer housing, and covering the rent I already paid for August. I paid my rent on August 10, and I have not had access to the property since August 15. Support would help me get through this immediate crisis with more safety and stability while I recover.
If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much to me. Any help will go toward getting me out of an unsafe situation and into a safer place to heal.
