I am a mother, an advocate, and a proud Albertan and Canadian.
On April 30th, 2026, I filed a Section 3 Charter Challenge against the Government of Alberta in King's Bench. I am doing this because I believe our fundamental rights are being systematically dismantled, and the safety of 2.9 million Albertans is at risk.
Why I Am Taking the Government to Court
This all began in wondering what was the current status of the Forever Canadian petition. I learned that the petition has been effectively stonewalled due to recent legislative changes. As a natural analyst, I continued researching further. What I found is deeply concerning:
- The "Democratic Chill": New laws under Bill 23 allow partisan political "scrutineers" to oversee the verification of signatures on sensitive petitions. This creates a state of surveillance that intimidates citizens from participating in democracy.
- The "Judicial Firewall": The government has been playing a game of "Legislative Whack-a-Mole." One where they rewrite the laws every time a court tells them "no" in order to continue to further their own agenda, regardless of what Albertans want or the courts tell them.
- The Data Leak was always the point: That this whole leak is part of a bigger plan of being the justification to avoid constitutional charter lawsuits in a couple weeks when "new and enhanced" election security measures are announced.
I am seeking an emergency injunction to:
- Freeze the signature verification process for the independence petition to prevent unconstitutional oversight and further misuse of our already compromised information.
- Ban partisan scrutineers from accessing our private voter information.
- Hold the UCP accountable for the gross and deliberate negligence that led to this breach.
Why I Need Your Help
I am taking on this fight as a self-represented litigant. I am up against the full weight of the Crown and the determination of the Government of Alberta to squash any legal challenges or opponents. While I have the evidence and the passion, the costs of filing fees, transcriptions, and the extensive research required to fight this in the Court of King's Bench are mounting.
The cost of photocopying alone is staggering.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward the legal costs of maintaining this Charter Challenge. Your support helps me stay in the fight to protect the "neutral zone" of our democracy, non partisan electoral verification and integrity. My hope is that my case be taken on by a bigger player (advocacy groups, constitutional law firms/law professionals, or even the Government of Canada as they have been named as a Respondent) or if enough is able to be fundraised, hire a constitutional legal team myself (constitutional lawyers can range from $375-$750/hr)
But up until that point, the paperwork has been filed and I have already gone in front of Justice Neilsen. Because I literally did not have the time between filing on Thursday and my first appearance Friday morning, he has ordered me an adjournment until I am able to properly serve both the Attorney General of Alberta and the Attorney General of Canada's offices notice. Of which I will be doing tomorrow (Monday) morning.
I want all Albertans know that there is someone who is doing something to put a stop to this. This is our home, these are our rights, and Danielle Smith and her United Corrupt Party need a swift reminder of who allowed them their jobs to begin with. Albertans don't take no nothing from any level of government. We work hard. We look out for each other and you best be certain we take care of our own.
