We are seeking funds to pay legal representation for the Parish Council in exploring the validity of the current Planning Application for the Erection of a 28-bedroom community care, rehabilitation and respite centre at Holton Hall Farm, Holton St Mary.
The Application has been found by independent experts to be based on incomplete information regarding safety, transport movements, noise levels and parking. The Parish Council is therefore pursuing legal representation and independent specialist advice and is looking for funds to support this.
If the Application is approved, it could see the village of Holton St Mary move from being a Hinterland Village to a village that offers infrastructure and employment: a change in status that could open the floodgates to untold further development. Babergh & Mid Suffolk Council has confirmed that it will hold back from issuing a decision notice on the Application until such time as Holton St Mary can submit supplemental representations on the two important issues, particularly: transport and noise impacts.
The Parish Council has pledged to pursue the legal course of action, by committing funds from the council's reserve account. In order to secure the reserve funds for future needs in the village and to cover the pledged legal costs, the Parish Council is giving villagers and friends of the village an opportunity to contribute. Every penny you give via this GoFundMe page will be used to support the Parish Council's activities on behalf of the village, to prevent this planning Application from going ahead unchallenged, safeguard Holton St Mary's Hinterland Village status, to prevent damage to the present tranquil village environment and secure the amenity of all residents.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
