27.07.2026: Beloved OYA MÜLLEM friends, guests, neighbours, comrades and supporters,
We need your support more than ever. We never got rid of the full amount of debts (ca. 38.000€) and carry it with us month by month, day by day which gets even harder / unfightable during slow summer season.
How do we spend the money?
We pay our open bills. No profit. No unnessecary costs.
1. Electricity & Gas: Our monthly payment was miscalculated last year so we have to repay 5242,95€ (plus adjusted monthly gas & electricity payments of ca. 1000€)
2. Taxes: ca. 4350€ tax payments open and due to summer low we cannot keep up
3. Insurances: ca. 3600€ of insurance costs for the space not yet paid
4. Credit: ca. 58.600€ still open, 1900€ of which have to be paid urgently
5. Material: 790€ of material costs have not been paid yet
Why It Matters
OYA MÜLLEM isn’t just another venue. Since opening in April 2024, we’ve become a cultural and political home in Cologne-Mülheim, a place where artists, neighbors, and creatives come together to share ideas, make art, and build community.
We’ve hosted performances, concerts, birthdays, weddings, workshops, exhibitions, and countless conversations. The response has shown us: this space matters.
We prioritize wages (obviously) & the room rent, so we can continue daily business as flawless as possible.
What We Do
OYA MÜLLEM is a meeting ground for different voices and perspectives. We host:
- Live performances
- Music events
- Workshops
- Readings
- Community events
- Solidary events / Fundraisers
We prioritize marginalized communities, providing a stage and a space for underrepresented voices.
