I’m Scott, and I founded Under a Roof because I couldn’t ignore what I was seeing.
Housing stress doesn’t just mean a tough week financially, it can mean a family losing stability, a parent trying to keep kids in the same school while moving between temporary places, or someone staying in a dangerous home because leaving feels impossible.
Over time, I saw how often the systems around housing fail the people who need them most. Not always through bad intent, but through delays, complexity, and a lack of clear responsibility. When you’re in crisis, those gaps can be the difference between getting out and going back.
Under a Roof was built to focus on what actually helps: safe housing options, practical financial support at the moment it’s needed, and clear pathways to longer-term stability. This Safe Housing Fund is our way of making sure that when someone is ready to leave violence, the lack of safe housing isn’t what stops them.
We’ll use donations for direct, traceable costs like emergency accommodation, bond and upfront rent, moving costs, and housing support, and we’ll report clearly so supporters can see the impact.
