SAFA Artist Series Fundraiser 2021

As part of our annual 2021 Artist Series, we've coordinated a number of wonderful events by writers, musicians, and visual artists. We are also in the midst of assembling our zine, which will be free and fully digital.
Join SAFA 3/11, 7-8pm EST to meet the second artist of Artist Series 2021: Saleem Nasir Gondal!
The event will include a screening of SUPER SONIC followed by a Q&A with Saleem about the film, his work, and his story. You can register for the event using this link: https://forms.gle/34sBEMfXpAxnjaoX6he
Zoom link will be emailed to registrants shortly before the event begins. All artist series events are open to anyone, so invite a friend!
For the first time last year, we held an Artist Series Fundraiser and we are bringing it back again. Still in the midst of a pandemic, among harsh and unpredictable weather, and the largest protests the world has seen, we know it is always the time for community care and mutual support. Working class, BIPOC, and undocumented communities have never, and will never be able to rely on the state for protection.
Our profit-driven institutions, Columbia and Barnard, prohibit student groups from directly giving our allocation and co-sponsorship money to local organizations. In response, we invite you to donate to our Artist Series fundraiser, so that we can distribute money for groups providing care to vulnerable communities during this crisis.
In the meantime, please donate, either to this fund--which we will then distribute to the groups listed below--or if you wish, donate directly to these organizations! Or both! If you've enjoyed our SAFA events in the past, submitted to our zine, or were looking forward to our fantastic zine release party--we strongly urge you to join in this collective effort.
We hope to raise $1000+ for each of the following organizations:
Desi's Rising Up and Moving NYC
Farmers Protest Project with Sahaita
NNJ NYC Commissary Fund
The Harlem Community Fridge
