I'm Saeed -I’m Ready to Live Fully. I Just Need a Pathway

My name is Saeed Alagha, and I’m from Gaza, Palestine.

In Arabic, Saeed means “happy.” It’s the name my parents gave me with hope and love — the hope that even in the darkest place, I would carry light in my heart.

I’m 37 years old, and I’ve spent every one of those years living with a bilateral lower and upper form deformity.

Today, I’m writing to you from a tent.

My family’s home has been completely destroyed. We have no roof, no walls, and no safe shelter — just a piece of cloth between us and the sky. The images you see here are not from a war zone far away — they are my everyday reality.

And yet, I’m still holding on to that light. I’m still smiling — because I believe in something better.

A Life Shaped by Struggle — And a Future Worth Fighting For
I was born with a form of paralysis. Before I ever took my first breath, my life was altered forever. When my mother was pregnant with me, she inhaled tear gas fired by the Israeli military. That one moment caused irreversible damage to my nervous system.

I have never walked. But I’ve always moved forward — in my own way.

I’ve spent my life navigating the world from a wheelchair, in a place where accessibility barely exists. Gaza has no proper rehabilitation centers, no medical care for complex disabilities, and no resources for someone like me to live independently. Every day is a struggle — not just for survival, but for dignity.

My Dream: Independence, Dignity, and a Chance to Truly Live
I’m not asking to escape. I’m asking to grow.

For the first time, I have a real opportunity to travel to Germany for specialized medical care and physical rehabilitation — the kind of support I’ve never had access to in Gaza. This treatment could help me gain more control over my body, access custom mobility equipment, and reclaim something I’ve never truly had: autonomy.

Imagine being able to prepare your own food, dress yourself, or get out of bed without needing someone else for every movement. For most people, this is normal. For me, it would be a dream come true.

What I Need
We’re raising $16,000 USD, which will cover:

Travel and visa processing

Medical evaluation and specialized rehabilitation in Germany

Custom mobility equipment (wheelchair and assistive tools)

Housing and basic living expenses during treatment

Administrative and legal support along the way

This campaign is organized by my cousin Kamel Alagha, who is outside Gaza and helping manage all logistics. Every dollar raised will go directly toward my care and recovery. We promise full transparency with receipts and updates.

This Isn’t Just a Medical Journey — It’s a Fight for Life
I’ve lived my entire life with strength, with patience, and with a smile — even when everything around me collapsed.

But now I need your help.

I’m not asking for pity. I’m asking for solidarity. I want to live a life where I don’t just survive destruction — I rise above it. I want to show the world that even in a tent, even after a lifetime of limitations, hope can still grow.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. You’ve already seen me not just as a patient, but as a man with dreams — a man still determined to live fully, freely, and with joy.

With all my heart,
Saeed Alagha
