Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'un

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved grandmother, Adouda Bouznet, who left this world on the last day of Ramadan at the age of 96. She was a woman of unwavering strength, boundless love, and profound faith, a true role model for all who knew her.

Throughout her life, my grandmother demonstrated incredible sabr (patience) and kindness in the face of unimaginable hardships. As a young widow, she raised her family alone and persevered through extreme poverty. Despite all the challenges she faced, including the loss of many of her children, she never let bitterness take root in her heart. Instead, she continued to give, love, and care for those around her.

She lived through the harsh realities of the French occupation in Algeria, a period that tested the strength and resilience of her people. Yet, even amidst this struggle, she never lost hope or faith in Allah. She carried the weight of these hardships with dignity and courage, always showing a heart full of mercy, kindness, and generosity.

Her life was an example of unshakable eman and steadfastness, teaching us that no matter how difficult life becomes, we must remain patient and compassionate. Even in her old age, she continued to be a source of guidance and love for her family and everyone who crossed her path.

In her memory, we are raising funds for Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) to provide medical aid for the poor in Algeria who are unable to afford healthcare. This is a way for us to continue her legacy of kindness and generosity, by supporting those in need just as she did throughout her life.

Where the funds will go:

• £30: Offers a free doctor/nurse home visit and medical treatment for those who can't afford it

• £150: Provides a hospital beds for at-home palliative care (will go home to home)

• £500: Provides an oxygen concentrator machine for free to patients in need (will go home to home)

I will be travelling back to Algeria in April to distribute the donations.

Your donations will help provide essential medical services to those suffering from illness and poverty. Through this act of charity, we pray that my grandmother’s soul finds peace and that her legacy lives on through the lives she continues to touch.

May Allah grant her the highest place in Jannah and reward you abundantly for your support.
