In loving memory of Taiba Bibi Khan

We are creating this fund (Sadaqah Jariyah) in honour of Taiba Khan, my beloved sister, who has returned to her Lord.

Taiba was a final-year medical student, only 26 years old, and a truly radiant soul. She was intelligent, witty, and kind, always sharing positivity and never burdening others with negativity. Her laughter and smile are what we will always remember. She was genuinely good and friendly to everyone she met.

As a family, we were unaware of the depth of Taiba’s pain, as she kept her struggles hidden. It has become clear after her passing that she faced significant mental health challenges.

Taiba was a devout Muslim, unwavering in her prayers and deeply committed to her faith. She regularly donated to various charities and was a dedicated blood donor. Her passion for helping the less fortunate led her to pursue medicine. The pressures of her studies were a constant struggle, but she unfortunately did not seek the support she needed.

Taiba’s playful and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by her mother, father, brother, sister, nieces, aunties, uncles, cousins, and countless friends, all of whom are heartbroken by her passing. In her memory, we are establishing a charitable fund to provide access to clean water for those in need.

The funds raised will be used to build water wells in developing countries. Any surplus funds would be dedicated to a mental health awareness and support charity. We will provide receipts and updates on this page as purchases are made, ensuring full transparency.

Thank you for your support and for honouring Taiba’s legacy of kindness and compassion.

Disclosure: To increase awareness of mental health issues in South Asian communities, I'm sharing the following information. Some content may appear repetitive, as it's sourced from another platform to ensure broader reach.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Taiba Khan, who has returned to Allah (SWT). These past few weeks have been unimaginably painful for her family and friends. Taiba was not only a bright light in the Muslim community, but a cherished member of the wider community as well.

At just 26 years old, she was in her final year of medical school—a devoted Muslim, a loving daughter, a caring sister, a playful aunt, and above all, a kind and pure soul.

As a family, we feel compelled to share this deeply personal experience in the hope of raising awareness about the often hidden nature of mental health struggles.

Taiba recently received the devastating news that she had not passed her final year exams—news she chose to carry alone, without sharing it with family or friends. While she did inform her university that she was struggling mentally and emotionally, no safeguarding measures were put in place. Sadly, none of us—her closest family and friends—were aware of the depth of her distress. Up until her final day, she continued to carry out her daily tasks with the same grace, warmth, and smile that defined her.

When she did not return home and concern grew, her family reached out to the university. Despite having knowledge of her mental health struggles, they shared no information. This left the family completely unaware of the severity of her situation.

We firmly believe that earlier intervention and open communication from the university could have made a difference. Even a small piece of shared information might have changed the outcome.

On Friday, 27th June, overwhelmed by her thoughts and without the support she needed, Taiba tragically passed away alone.

As a family, we are left with many questions and an overwhelming sense of loss. We continue to ask ourselves how we could have intervened—how we might have noticed or helped. We are sharing her story not only to honour her, but to raise awareness for the many families who may unknowingly be facing similar situations.

Please, check in with your loved ones. Look for the signs we missed. Speak openly and without judgment. Be kind, be present, and support your children, no matter their age. Taiba was unconditionally loved—but cultural taboos, particularly within Asian households, can sometimes prevent honest conversations about mental health and emotional pain.

To honour Taiba’s memory and spirit of compassion, we are launching a charitable initiative to provide clean water to communities in need. The funds raised will be used to build water wells in developing countries. We are committed to full transparency and will share receipts and updates as projects are completed.

May Allah (SWT) grant our beautiful Taiba the highest rank in Jannah, forgive her shortcomings, and bring peace to all those grieving her loss. Ameen.
