Sadaqah Jariyah 4 our beloved Gran Amina Memoniat

‎إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُون

“Verily we belong to Allah and verily to Him we shall return”. (2:156)

Our beloved grandmother Amina Memoniat returned to Allah (swt) on 6th May 2022.

“O Allah, forgive her and elevate her status among those who are guided. Send her along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and her, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for her her grave and shed light upon her in it”. We ask Allah to grant her Jannahtul Firdous and be reunited with her late husband Yusuf Memoniat, Ameen.

Our Grandmother was a beautiful loving mother, sister, great & great great grandmother and friend to those who surrounded themselves around her. She was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everybody she encountered.

Her inspiring stories would fill us with joy, the troubles she faced of daily living in Malawi and the days spent in Jamat as well as hosting those who travelled through the village. She left us with priceless words of wisdom for young and old, she was our source of comfort.

With the blessing of Allah Azza Wajjal we have decided to begin a GoFundMe page in honour of our Grandmother Amina Memoniat. We are raising money as a form of Sadaqah Jaariyah, all funds donated will go directly to helping provide water for the needy in Malawi. A place she grew up and spoke fondly of.

The gift of water saves lives, which is a hugely rewardable action.

Allah says in the Qur'an, 'And whoever saves one a life - it is as if he had saved all of mankind'. (Qur'an, 5:32)

The borehole is drilled deep into the ground to the water source, this will provide a safe and reliable source of water for the whole community and avoid the risk of cross contamination of water borne diseases and livestock. Boreholes are safe for all community members to use, both women and children can gain easy and quick access to water, without the risk of accidents and deaths from falling into the water source.

Donating to a Sadaqah Jaariyah project is one of the most beautiful acts of charity which benefits the giver and receiver. May Allah (swt) make this a means for our Aakirah.

Please keep our Grandmother and our family in your duaas. May Allah raise her ranks and forgive all her shortcomings and Inshaa Allah we reunite with her in Jannah.
