Sadaqah Jariya in loving memory of Nasreen Ahmed

إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

Surely we belong to Allah and to Him, we shall return.

Assalaamu 'alaikum everyone,

This GoFundMe has been created in honour of our beautiful, kind-hearted, and courageous mother, Nasreen Ahmed, who passed away on February 12th, 2019 after fighting against a lifelong battle with several medical conditions, including liver failure.

She was the definition of resilient and strong-willed Allahumma Barik, having continued to touch those around her with her constant laughs, bright smile and positive aura Mash’Allah. Nasreen was a mother to many people, having fed, loved, and inspired many souls before she returned to her Lord. Our mother was the type of woman who loved so deeply that even as her children tried to be her liver donor at a given time, she cried at the thought of us being in pain for her sake. She gave her family and friends enough love to last a lifetime Alhamdulilah.

During my mother’s short time in this dunya, she became too familiar with the inside of a hospital room— having been diagnosed with osteoporosis, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Regardless, her faith never wavered and she never complained about the life she was given. She demonstrated unwavering sabr (patience) and Tawakkul (trust in God’s plan).

As today signifies 4 years since mama’s passing, we have created this fundraiser to build water wells on her behalf as an act of Sadaqah Jariya (perpetual charity).

“When a man dies, his act come to an end, but three, Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), or Beneficial Knowledge (by which people benefit), or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).” [Sahih Muslim: 1631 (4223)]

Our goal is to raise enough money to build multiple wells in our mother’s honour as a means of ongoing reward and aiding those in need of clean drinking water.

The Prophet (PBUH) was asked, "which charity is the best?" and he responded, “providing water.”

We ask that you donate in whatever capacity you can and to keep us and our beloved mother in your sincerest duas.

May Allah (SWT) widen our mother’s grave and fill it with noor (light), Ameen. May he reunite our mother with all her loved ones in Jannat-ul-Firdous, where we will never be separated again, Ameen. May He grant her Maghfirah (forgiveness) and may all the pain she suffered in this dunya expiate her sins, Ameen.
