We have set up this GoFundMe to raise funds for Sadaqah Jaariyah (ongoing charity) on behalf of our beloved aunt, Momotaj Begum, who returned to her Lord. She was a kind, loving, and generous soul who touched many hearts in her lifetime.

We hope to honour her by funding meaningful and lasting projects that will benefit others in this life and serve as a source of ongoing reward for her in the next.

We are truly humbled and grateful for all the kind words, prayers, and support from family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Your love and compassion have brought us great comfort, and we thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts.

On Thursday 10th July 2025, Momotaj Begum passed suddenly, Qadr of Allah (The Will of God). She will dearly be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was truly one of the kindest, most loving, and most generous people - always giving, a truly selfless soul who thought about others before herself. Her pure heart and character will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

This page has been created by Family to fundraise for a masjid to be built in Africa as a Sadaqah Jaariyah for Momotaj Begum. Your contribution can help construct a 150-square-meter masjid, offering essential support to the local community. This mosque will be a center for daily prayers, Friday sermons, and Janazah prayers, alongside Islamic education. It will also host marriage ceremonies, counseling sessions, and community events. For £10,400, with space for 156 worshipers inside, including a separate area for women, the mosque also provides an outdoor area for extra worshipers.

Prophet ﷺ said

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
