Trip to Sacred Stone Camp, ND
Donation protected
I am a young person who feels the time to stand up and fight to protect our land and water from environmental destruction is NOW. There is a growing movement of many tribes and non-natives coming together in North Dakota to peacefully stop the Dakota Access Pipeline from destroying water and sacred lands. This is a turning point, as over 4,000 people have gathered, and the camps continue to grow each day. Those who are there have asked for more young warriors to gather with them.
I request your help funding my trip to join the Standing Rock Sioux and other Water Protectors at the Sacred Stone Camp.
This will be a 3,350 mile round-trip journey from my home in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the Sacred Stone Camp outside Cannon Ball, North Dakota.
With your help, I will be able to bring needed supplies to Sacred Stone Camp and Red Warrior Camp. Funds raised here will cover the costs of fuel and supplies. Any money raised beyond my needs will go directly to the Sacred Stone Camp fundraiser.
Water is life, and this pipeline is along the Missouri River, which is the primary water source for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, and many thousands of other people. When that pipeline leaks (as they all eventually do), it will destroy the river and wreak havoc for all those who depend upon it. This pipeline, and others like it, must be stopped before it is too late. We have the power to band together and make our voices heard, on behalf of our land and water, and we must do so now while we still have something left to fight for.
On this journey, I will take many photos, and will provide updates here and on social media. Internet and power access may be limited, but I will post as frequently as I possibly can.
By helping me, you will be helping the protect Earth for future generations, and for that, I thank you.
