Bikes for Refugees
Donation protected
Hi! We’re working to provide bicycles to refugees resettling in our Sacramento community. When our hearts were breaking as refugees fled the Taliban regime after the U.S. military moved out of Afghanistan last year, we contacted the local International Rescue Committee and asked how we could help. They asked for bikes, so that is what we are delivering. They also requested we package these bikes with essential safety accessories.
Our goal is to deliver 100 bikes, which cost an average of $30 each in repair and essentials. We already provided 30 bikes and are working on 20 bikes right now.
Your donation goes towards bike repair and essential safety accessories like helmets, locks, and lights. We get our bikes through donations or low-cost auctions and are committed to reusing, recycling, and repairing. We donate our time as amateur bike mechanics and have a fantastic bike community to ask for help.
We appreciate any support you can provide, whether it be a monetary donation or helping to spread the word to reach our fundraising goal! Sincerely, Anil and Tessa
