I am a teacher at Sabish Middle School in Fond du Lac, WI and am so proud of my seventh graders! For the past six years we have been the Sabish Elves for local kindergarten students. We raise money, dress up as elves, create the "North Pole," Skype with the students to see what they need (usually coats, hats/mittens, boots, clothes, shoes, school supplies, etc.), make a list, shop, wrap, and deliver gifts to the kids (since Santa accidentally dropped them off at the wrong school). This lesson in giving is incredible, and this year our project is on steroids!! Knowing how we can make the holidays special for needy families, we are once again providing gifts for kindergarteners at five schools! This means around 230 elementary students and 122 seventh grade elves will be touched by this project. (Since inception, over 1,000 kids have been involved and $34,000 raised.) The memories this provides for both my students and the kindergarteners will last a lifetime, "Mrs. Rieder thanks for today! It was the best day of my life. You know that 'warm, fuzzy' feeling you said we could get from giving a special gift? Well, I got that for the first time today. Thanks." View project details here: https://goo.gl/lBt2W.
We will be delivering on Dec. 19, so funds would be needed by Dec. 4 for shopping. Your support will not only make this project possible, it will make us elves ecstatic and the kindergarteners thrilled!! P.S. Many of my students are in the same financial need as those we help; they went to those schools, know the need, and want to make it a year to remember forever!
