Sabs' Bday Fundraiser for YCore & Upwardly Global

This birthday is a special birthday because it's my Golden Jubilee birthday! Given the occasion, I did a lot of inner reflection on the year and my level of gratitude for people who have entered my life, causes I have joined, and relationships that have been strengthened.
I want to dedicate my birthday to raising money for two nonprofit organizations I am passionate about :). The first one is YCore and the second is Upwardly Global.
YCore mobilizes young professionals to start/continue their social impact journey in the Bay Area by organizing teams of 4-5 folks who partner with a community-based nonprofit to tackle a project that builds capacity for that nonprofit. Along the way, we solve challenging problems for the community, learn valuable skills to start our philanthropic journey, and meet incredible like-minded humans.
This year, through YCore, I have had the privilege of leading a project with Upwardly Global, whose mission is to help highly-skilled refugees and immigrants who have had to uproot their lives, oftentimes not through choice, integrate into the professional workforce in the US. As a person raised in a loving community of immigrants, this hits home. The experience has been inspiring and elucidating, to say the least. In 2019, I will be joining Upwardly Global's leadership council, to continue supporting this mission.
Every bit you donate means the world to me! I will donate half the amount I receive to YCore and the other half to Upwardly Global. Thank you so so much for your kindness and generosity :). Happy happy new year!
