Better Life for Tanzanian Children
Donation protected
Stella Moshi and Thomas Mchomvu are both doing extraordinary work to improve the lives of the Tanzanian Children they come into contact with.
Let's start with Stella. She started by taking orphans and other kids in need into her own home and providing them with a safe place to live where they were loved and their basic needs were met. This was the start of something special, and eventually, she founded Kilimanjaro Centre for Orphans & Street Children, also known as Kili Centre.
Kili Centre is doing AMAZING work. The Centre is located in Moshi, Tanzania next to Mount Kilimanjaro and takes in orphans and other kids whose parents can't afford to take care of them. Many of these children come from very rough situations that are created by poor economic conditions. Despite coming from difficult backgrounds, the kids are full of joy and are happy to have each other! They love laughing, playing games, dancing, and learning new things!
The staff at the orphanage creates an environment where everyone is part of a big family, and the kids have role models and are showered with love. But they need YOUR support! The Centre runs on donations and the kids have many needs, including:
- Beds
- Food
- Clean Water
- Clothing
- Toiletries
- Furniture
As for Thomas, he is a teacher at Nuru Academy Pre & Primary School in Moshi, Tanzania. The school works closely with Kili Centre, as many of the kids from the Centre attend Nuru Academy. It is his personal goal to help change Tanzanian society and to help his students become successful professionals in the future.
The students at Nuru Academy also often come from difficult economic backgrounds. Despite the challenges they face, they are doing well in their classes and they are eager about doing well in school. The kids are very bright and full of smiles! To provide the kids with the best learning environment possible, the school also has some needs:
- Desks
- School Supplies
- Books
- Posters
- Computers
- Projector
- Sports Equipment
The students do not have a conducive learning environment, since there are not enough desks for the students to sit in. Solving this problem and giving the students more tools to learn, such as computers, will have a tremendous impact on their education and will make a big difference in their future by opening up many career opportunities.
My name is Mohammad and I am from Houston, Texas. I am volunteering in Moshi, Tanzania until February and it is my goal to leave a lasting impact at Kili Centre and Nuru Academy by improving the lives of these kids in the present and the future. I would like to raise $5,000 for the Centre and Nuru Academy and improve the lives of the children I have had the privilege to meet. I think, with YOUR help, I can reach this goal and together we can make a difference.
Thank you so much for reading the stories of the people here. If you decide to donate, thank you even more!! Your donation will go a long way and will truly help out.
Also, it would be a HUGE help to share this fundraiser with friends, family and anyone else who would be interested. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
