Our local, state, and federal governments are offering little to no aid for our unsheltered friends and neighbors during this unprecedented crisis--on the contrary, they are facing heightened levels of criminalization and scorn. We as a local mutual aid coalition of different organizations in Orange County find it unconscionable that the unsheltered members of our community are being left with no way to protect or provide for themselves during a time where they are most susceptible to violence and harm. As such, we are hoping to take it upon ourselves to provide what the state will not.

We are hoping that this Gofundme will be the beginning of a stable fund we may draw upon to get food, gloves, supplies to make our own face masks, and other items like blankets and sleeping bags to help our unsheltered friends and neighbors during this crisis. Every cent we raise with this Gofundme will go directly to tangible goods for our unsheltered community. We also hope that this may become an ongoing fund people may donate to if they want to help out, but due to their own circumstances cannot be directly involved. (Though we are obviously always happy to get volunteers if people are interested!)
