Help Support Sam Jeffcoat and Her Family

My sister Sam has been admitted to Wollongong Private Hospital since the 5th of June due for severe, debilitating migraines. Her condition is so extreme that she spends nearly all her time in complete darkness and silence — even in hospital, the lights are always off, doors stay closed, and she’s had to tape blankets over the windows just to get some relief.

Over the past month, Sam has undergone numerous procedures and tests, with many more still ahead. Doctors have also discovered masses on her brain, which now require a biopsy to determine what they are. On top of that, she’s been referred to an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist, adding to the growing list of expenses. As of now, there is no clear discharge date in sight.

Sam’s fiancé is an interstate truck driver and the sole income earner for their family. He has had to cut back his work hours — and income — to travel the 5 hours from Eugowra to Wollongong to be by Sam’s side. Their three young children have also had to miss school in order to visit their mum, making this time even more emotionally and financially challenging.

Between travel, accommodation, medical appointments, and specialist fees, the financial strain on their family has become incredibly overwhelming.
