Outsmart Racism

Donation protected
When I was 21, I was the target of a racial hate crime on the University of Illinois campus.  I had my face broken in 3 places and required reconstructive surgery to correct the damage. I am happy that I was able to walk away with my life but nobody should have to go through what I did.

I witnessed disturbing acts of racism still alive in the middle schools of Sherman Oaks, CA in 2017. The school is located in a melting pot of cultures and nationalities from all over the world and it was here!?

That's when I decided to started the Outsmart Racism concept and sadly it's more relevant now more than ever.

While the program we are developing will be designed to be implemented on middle school aged children, it's message and content is designed for everyone, no matter the age.

Racism is a learned mindset therefore I believe that it can be reversed through education.

We need to ensure that our children and future generations won't have to endure the harshness and injustice that we have experienced and seen in our lifetimes and my team and I are empowered to end the burden of an antiquated belief structure.

We are all different for a purpose and we are here to teach each other, learn from one another and to take care of one another and our planet.

This movement isn't meant to shame anyone.

I feel that most of us have used words and have intentionally or unintentionally committed acts of prejudice through social and systemic conditioning.

Through our families, social circles, movies, television & media, modern culture and so many other causes, we are affected consciously and subconsciously and we have our perceptions of the world and the people in it altered.

Every day is a new day where we have a choice to do what we know is right.

Let's be known as the generation who put a stop to racial hatred.

*What will we do with the funds we raise?*

The ultimate goal is to eradicate racism.

At the very least, we want to educate to minimize the harmful emotional and violent effects of racism in society.

I truly believe that experiences change people.

Our first step while the fundraiser is still generating capital is to update our website and to produce merchandise with our logos and artwork to help start the conversations that will help lead our target audience to the understanding of racial equality.

When fundraising goals are reached, our teachings and methods will be developed into a curriculum to be featured in schools, festivals, conferences, corporate events, etc.. and will include:

-Lessons on how to identify racism
-Lessons on how to respectfully connect with others
-Immersive exercises and experiences to connect people
-One-on-one sessions, where students are paired up with one another and encouraged to connect
-Dedicated segments for students to experience immersion into cultures which they may not normally encounter
-Testimonials from victims of racism
-Testimonials from former racists
-Understanding contributions and foods from other cultures and nationalities to our modern lives

When everybody loves, everybody wins.
