Support for our Sister

On the 6th April 2019, my best friend Angie, pregnant with her first child, went into labour at only 25 weeks and her beautiful little boy Nikolai was born.
Since then her and Partner have spent countless hours at the NICU in Perth with their wee boy, watching him get sick then bounce back to only get sick again. An ongoing fight that seems never ending and relentless.
Living in Perth means that Angie is far away from her family back in New Zealand. Her Mother Treena, has still not had the chance to meet her newest grandchild and be there to support her daughter through this time.
This need for her Mum to be there was made even more apparent when, on the 19th May they arrived home late from the hospital to find their house had been ransacked and minor items stolen.
As if having to leave your tiny baby in the hospital each and every day, hooked up to a plethora of machines isn’t hard enough, to then come home and find your sanctuary has been violated and strangers have been through your house with no regard for you, taking whatever they see as “take-able”. This is just another kick in the guts for a family already on the edge of incomprehensible devastation and heart ache.
Angie is a fighter, no one could ever diene that. At 16 she wrote an emotional email to a prominent New Zealand band asking for help in fundraising for her best friends grave stone. Which the band, moved by her words and love, agreed to help with.
Angie has always been the one doing, the one helping, the one that helps those who can’t help themselves. This is our turn to help her. She has been through incredible loss and now is dealing with this.
Her amazing partner works away on a roaster which means she is at home alone for a week every two weeks, a job he must keep as they are a one income family.
To help this strong and resilient family with this completely unfair and unimaginable situation, I ask you to please donate so we can fly Angie’s Mum over to Perth from New Zealand and so that they can afford to install a security system to help Angie feel a little safer while at home, somewhere everyone should feel safe.
All my thanks,
Susan.
