Hi there, I’m a single mom of three awesome kids- 11, 8 and 7. My children are the joy of my life, being their mom has been the most rewarding experience. My oldest is bright and talented. She was recently named a winner in a young writers contest! My son is the middle. He’s smart and inquisitive, a budding musician and a Lego master. He also lives with a significant visual impairment and autism. My youngest is a spitfire! An avid reader, talented story teller and an artist in the making. She also lives with a visual impairment. Their dad and I divorced several years ago and since that time he has not been active in their lives and I’ve been making up the difference. Over the years he has shown an indifference toward their needs, has subjected them to awful treatment, he refuses to learn about our son’s challenges and the best way to support a child with autism. He does not pay his entire portion of child support nor does he contribute to child care expenses, extra curricular or medical expenses. Despite his voluntary lack of involvement, he is suing me for custody of our children as retaliation for buying a house and moving 10 miles away. Unfortunately, I am not in the position to hire an attorney or pay guardian ad litem fees (an advocate my children so desperately need) leaving me to navigate this serious matter on my own. While this case will likely not go in his favor, it is expensive and important that the kids and I receive the right representation so that we can address the current problems and avoid this situation in the future. Can you help me raise money for legal fees to help me advocate for my children?

The money raised will go towards guardian ad litem fees of $1500 and towards hiring an attorney to represent me, about $3000 initially with additional fees likely at the end of the trial.
