I'm Carla Schwiderski, Brazilian, Therapist and Community leader.
I am here representing my philanthropic community in Brazil, to support the population of Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil.
The state of Rio Grande do Sul is desperately trying to recover from a tragic FLOOD from unprecedented rains, leaving more than 1 MILLION and 300 thousand people impacted, more than 150 thousand people unhoused, 48 thousand in shelters, many still waiting on their roofs to be rescued after multiple days of waiting.
When the water recedes, we will be facing the greatest tragedy in Brazil.
The latest report from the rescue team affirms that where Cities with more than 50 thousand people, completely submerged, with no sign of survivors.
The number of human death toll are uncertain, the last update from the Government said 87 deaths and rising with 134 more people missing. We will know the reality in few days.
There are so many animals (horses, dogs, livestock) left stranded.
The people of Rio Grande do Sul are in need of our help.
The government does not have the infrastructure for the scale of this rescue mission, nor can they provide the humanitarian aid needed to help these displaced people, many elderly. My family and friends and countless others who are on the ground in Brazil have jumped in to help organize missions— rescuing people and animals with private helicopters, motor boats and jet skies. It’s very impressive what we can do when we all come together with our skills and efforts and resources!! We are also collecting supplies (food, drinking water, medicine, clothing, etc) to deliver to the people who’ve been displaced, their town completely flooded with more rains expected. My family’s group collected more than 6 tons of food, animal feed, hygiene items, etc., which where delivered by private air transport in the last 24 hours.
But we very much need additional help to be able to continue collecting supplies for the people in need, especially with these additional rains predicted.
Your donation, any amount, your prayer, your act of sharing this campaign will all have a positive impact.
We thank you immensely!
Carla and her Brazilian community.
