Want to join me in making a difference? I'm running the Serengeti Girls Run (SGR) this October and raising money for empowerment programs for girls in rural areas of Tanzania! 



For the sixth consecutive year, runners of all fitness levels are invited to join this multi-stage all-women run. Traversing the pristine wilderness of Singita Grumeti’s private concession in the Serengeti – home to an abundance of wildlife and a unique ecosystem – this exclusive event is part of Singita and the Grumeti Fund’s Safaris with a Purpose and will raise funds for empowerment programs for girls in rural Tanzania.

The run involves a flexible, multi-stage distance of 21km per day. Whether on foot or supporting the runners in the shadow vehicle, participants will also be able to engage with local girls and learn more about the Grumeti Fund's work in the region.

Where will the money go? Funds raised will benefit the African Community and Conservation Foundation, the US non-profit for the Grumeti Fund and co-sponsor of this event. 



How will the funds be used? Monies raised will go toward scholarships for local girls, empowerment events, feminine hygiene products for girls (so they can attend school with dignity and pride), mentorship programs and life skills training.

 

On my first trip to Tanzania in 2022, I had the opportunity to experience some of the community programs this organization was involved in and so wanted to find a way to do more and give back. The Serengeti Girls Run is that path and your contribution (and mine!) CAN and WILL make a difference. I'd be honored if you'd support me and this important cause.
