Ry's Final Major: Tokyo. Raising for Room to Read

Donation protected
In 2013 I ran my first marathon in London. It happened to be one of the Six Major Marathons. Since then it has been a goal of mine to run all Six of the World Marathon Majors and collect my Six Star Finisher medal.

A decade later, I am hoping to complete this goal at the 2024 Tokyo Marathon on 3rd March. To celebrate this achievement, I have decided to raise funds for a very special charity, Room to Read.

Room to Read believe that world change starts with educating children, with the goal of helping children from historically low-income communities develop literacy skills. In the hope of transforming children’s lives through education!

I have pledged to raise £1,950, which is enough money to support 50 children with literacy education for an entire year! This fundraising will provide the skills and confidence young students need and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Whilst I have already paid the funds to the Room to Read charity, (evidence provided) any donations will contribute towards this £1,950 pledge, with any money remaining outstanding being donated by myself.*

Room to Read is a charity that I've been an advocate of for many years through their work in the UK. Through friends in teaching, I've seen first hand the impact that educating young learners from low income backgrounds can have, Following Room to Read on social media I recently saw a post asking for runners for Tokyo and I cannot wait to be a part of of the Room to Read team, running for this fantastic cause.

*Any monies exceeding the £1,950 will be donated directly to Room To Read.
