Volunteering in Ecuador

Hi, my name is Tegan Williams. I am volunteering for the Orphanage Support Services Organization, OSSO, in Ecuador this summer. I learned about OSSO on Instagram in early September. I'll be in Ecuador for two weeks, June 19-July 3, 2024. While in Ecuador, I look forward to learning Spanish, meeting new people, and, most importantly, taking care of and playing with the kids in the orphanage!

I was drawn to OSSO because I love helping others in need and for the adventure. My endeavor to become a volunteer for OSSO started in early October. While in Africa with my grandparents, my mom filled out my initial application because only the first 48 applicants were accepted. I heard back from OSSO in mid-October, and they requested three personal references. I waited another month to receive an email to schedule a final interview. On Monday, I got the call for the last interview, and I am PROUD to say I will go to Ecuador for two weeks! My dream is to travel the world and help others. I hope this experience will help guide my plans and ignite a passion for my future.

The funds I want to raise will cover the cost of the program fees for OSSO and travel expenses to Ecuador. The OSSO program fees fund the orphanage and provide care to the children. These efforts help to fill the gaps when the parents are missing.
