Edina Lotzin, is a long-time member of the Hungarian School and the St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, as well as the Hungarian Scouts in New Brunswick. She has 4 children. She is living in fear right now. She has to face an unknown, unsecured future. She has been a victim of identity theft. They broke her accounts and took all of their savings approx $10 000. Edina planned to get her diploma as a nurse, so she got a mortgage to start school in January. She also already put in her job resignation to focus on her education. With her supporting husband, they planned to use their savings until she finished a two and a half year nursing school program. And then the unexpected happened. They started the legal process to try to get back the money (Police and Bank) but it looks like it will take many months. Until then they still have to provide a normal life for their 4 children.
When I asked her a week ago, where the process was, she answered with fear and desperation in her voice. IF they get back that money, which will be decided in 4 months time (and which is still in jeopardy since the thief used a pin code to withdraw that money), in a couple of months they still need to pay the mortgage and buy food and pay for their smallest boy's preschool.
At this moment I see someone who I have known for at least 14 years - and this someone needs help right now. And she would never have the courage to ask for anything, so I thought, we have to stand with her and her family.
So, please if you can, help her.
Thank you!
