***UPDATE*** We have met our fundraising goal! It's been less than a week, and we have been overwhelmed by the support shown through contributions here on GoFundMe and by those who have given directly. (More support has been given directly, which is not reflected in the GFM total.) We're so thankful to every friend, family member, stranger and anonymous donor who has made a contribution -- it's been truly humbling to be on the receiving end of such generosity and grace. You have made our adoption possible, and we thank you for helping us bring our first child home.
------
Hello! We are Zac and Grace Rybak. For those of you who do not know us, we are Cleveland, Ohio natives and have been married since September 2015.
We've been trying to grow our family of two for the past 2.5 years, but since having a miscarriage in February 2019, we haven't been able to get pregnant. Through these struggles, we have really been humbled to let go of our control and our plans for our lives. In the process, God has led us to something incredibly beautiful and exciting — the decision to grow our family through adoption.
We CANNOT wait to meet our first child and for the years of laughter, family traditions, bedtime stories and scraped knees to begin! However, as the adoption process can be challenging, we are humbly asking for support.
First, we're asking for your support through prayer. This is the most important thing. Pray for our hearts as we walk through the adoption process, which can be stressful and full of uncertainty, and for us as we prepare to become parents. Please also pray for our future child/children and their birth parents.
And finally, we ask for your support financially. As adoption can be expensive, we cannot do this alone and need the support of our friends and family — our village. It will cost us a minimum of $30,000 to bring our baby home, and at most around $40,000. (This difference depends on the birth mother's medical insurance coverage.) Specific costs the money will meet include the agency placement fee, legal costs, support for the birth mom, and social worker visit costs. After accounting for the money we have saved ourselves and support we have already received, we are trying to raise a final needed $10,000 through this GoFundMe appeal.
As our home study report is currently being processed and finalized, we do not yet have a hard deadline for fundraising. Our goal is to raise the majority of the funds by June, which is the earliest we can be matched with a birth mom.
We have started up a puzzle fundraiser. With this fundraiser, we are selling pieces to a puzzle that we have designed and will frame and hang in our future child's nursery. Each piece that is purchased will have the name of a supporter written on the back. We hope to one day show our child how many people came together to help bring him/her home. We are selling the inside pieces for $25 and the edge pieces for $100.
We are also accepting direct contributions via check or Venmo for those who are more comfortable giving in those ways (contact us for details).
We appreciate your support! Any contribution you choose to make, no matter the amount, is appreciated.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and love!
