Ryan's Volunteer trip - Togo Africa

My name is Ryan Loughney, and I'll be traveling to Togo, Africa in October for a two-week volunteer program alongside the amazing folks from Alaffia and the Whole Planet Foundation. I have been given a great opportunity by Whole Foods Market to immerse myself in the culture of Togo, while providing humanitarian aid to some of it's people.
What will I be doing in Togo?
I will spend some time learning the effects of microcredit loans in Western Africa as well as witnessing Alaffia's community outreach, first hand. What I'm most excited about is that I'll work hand in hand with locals to build a kindergarten in Togo. This is something I have always dreamed of, and with a child of my own on the way, I couldn't be more proud to take part in a project like this. I plan to document much of my trip with my GoPro camera, and I intend on leaving pretty much everything I bring with the Togolese in need.
What will your donation be used for?
All donations will help cover my flight to Africa, my vaccinations, and my visa to enter the country of Togo. Once I arrive in Togo, my travel, food, and lodging will all be covered by Whole Foods Market. This is a volunteer program and I will not be paid for my work.

Alaffia is an incredible bodycare line that is based in Togo, and embraces empowerment through maternal care, education, reforestation, and much more. The Whole Planet Foundation was founded in 2005 by Whole Foods Market to empower some of the worlds poorest people with microcredit loans. The non-profit has already funded 1.9 million microcredit loans worldwide, and provided 10.5 million people with an opportunity for a better life. Check out the videos below for information!
