Miss Kennette needs a pool! With the closing of Prairie Life, Kennette Pyles has lost her place to teach. She has some things worked out for the short term, but long term she would love to buy or build her own facility. Let’s help her do this!!
Almost 20 years ago, Kennette lost her son, Ryan, to drowning. She has dedicated her life, through the Ryan Pyles Aquatic Foundation, to helping children learn survival swimming skills.
The Ryan Pyles Aquatic Foundation was created by Kennette’s family to prevent pediatric drowning. No parent should lose their young child to senseless accidental drowning. Survival swim programs are designed to teach young children and their families how to introduce and teach swimming in a way that not only teaches children to love water but handle the water safely. Traditional swim lessons for children ages 3 and up do not offer comprehensive programs to prevent drowning. Other swim schools offer toddler and parent classes for children under 3 which also do not offer comprehensive programs to prevent drowning. The Ryan Pyles Aquatic Foundation offers lessons to children 6 months and up. All lessons for non swimmers focus primarily on swimming and floating successfully without the use of floatation devices. Once these skills are mastered and tested then all children especially 3 and above are encouraged to move onto traditional swim lessons for stroke development!
