Ryan and Maureen Adoption Fees

With great excitement, we announce that we are working with St. Elizabeth Coleman Pregnancy & Adoption Services to adopt an infant. As many of you know, we have been married for almost five years. We were married in November of 2017. Unfortunately, Maureen became incredibly ill right after our wedding and had an emergency hysterectomy in December 2017. Although we are both grateful for Maureen's restored health, we mourn that we can't have biological children. But the good news is that working with St. Elizabeth Coleman Pregnancy & Adoption Services, we will be parents someday quite soon! We are both very excited to get placed with a birthmother and eventually meet our bundle of joy! We can't wait to give a child a nurturing and loving home.

Adoption isn't cheap, and we are both full-time public librarians. Unfortunately, as public servants, we don't make tons of money. Therefore, we could use some financial help to make this dream a reality. We have been contributing money from our savings for some of the fees that have already popped up but could still use a lot of help. The funds raised through this fundraiser will go primarily towards pre-birth and medical expenses for the birth mother, the adoption agency's placement fee, and lawyer fees.

Here is the breakdown:

Placement Fee: $15,000

Pre-Birth Expenses: $4,000

Medical Expenses: Pending (usually between $2,000 to $4,000)

Lawyer Fee: $3,000

The estimated adoption total is around $26,000.
