As members of the LGBTQ+ community, we are fortunate to have been born in the UK. While there is still progress to be made in achieving full equality, we can generally live safely and without fear of prosecution by the state or those around us. However, as of 2024, homosexuality remains illegal in 64 countries, with the death penalty still enforced or a possibility in 12 of them. Beyond these legal threats, social attitudes and stigma continue to make life unbearable and unsafe for LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide.

This will be Ryan's first marathon and JP's third, and together we are taking this opportunity to raise vital funds for Micro Rainbow. These funds will support safe housing and help those fleeing persecution, conviction, or the threat of death simply for being LGBTQ+ transition to life in the UK.
