Hi, my name is Lacey and I am raising funds to extend my brothers time at the Oceanview Addictions Treatment & Recovery Center.
Shane is 31 years old, he has 3 beautiful children and has worked in construction for most of his adult life.
In his high-school and college years Shane is known for his love of sports and excelled in any physical activity he tried. He specifically loved football and basketball.
Shane has always been a very family oriented person, the love he has for his parents, siblings, cousins, neices, nephews, and children is undisputed.
Now for the tough part, for at least the last decade, a 3rd of his life he has struggled with severe alcoholism which has only gotten worse with time causing mental health issues, loss of employment, and family dynamic.
Addiction is an ugly, cruel, heartless thing, and at times it’s hard to separate the addiction from the person. I can assure you, nobody hates who they become more than the addict. Shane desperately wants to get healthy, and make amends to anyone he needs to, and be the person he strives to be, someone he can be proud of.
Alcoholism doesn’t discriminate, and Shane is no exception, he has hurt and lost the trust of family and friends, but I know this isn’t the true Shane.
On January 7th, 2025 Shane made the decision to seek help. January 9th, 2025 was day 1 of Shane's sobriety journey.
Shane is in a 90 day program at Oceanview Addictions Treatment & Recovery Center in New Brunswick.
Shane has a subsidized bed at a cost of $5000 per month. The first 60 days of his treatment has been generously covered financially by family members.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to ensure he can complete the full 90 days and recieve the skills needed to help him continue his sobriety outside of the center.
For the third month, I am asking anyone who can and would contribute, to help him complete his final 30 days. No amount is too small and to say thank you could never begin to show our gratitude.
Thank you for your support and words of encouragement.
