Fundraiser for Ayva & her family
Donation protected
Just over a week ago our student Ayva was brutally attacked by a vicious illegal dog and left with life changing injuries. Ayva has been a student with us since the start of this year and since Ayva and her brother Logan started they have absolutely loved training and always been incredible students, getting involved with events and supporting the club. We would like to make a small gesture to show how much she means to us.
On Thursday 31st the club will be involved with a Sparathon (50 one minute fights) in fancy dress. We would like the money raised to go to Ayva and her family to have a nice day out or small holiday after all they've been through.
We really appreciate your support as Ayva has been so brave through all this and when we saw her this week she just wanted to come back and start training.
"After seeing the shocking images online of the brutal dog attack to Ayva, I thought to myself there must be something I can do to raise this young girl’s spirits. This life-changing event has not only affected Ayva, but also her family, with the attack happening directly outside her home.
Ayva is a member of the Heads of the Valleys Tang Soo Do and so am I, along with my wife and two young children. We’ve all trained together at the Dojang in Brynmawr, and with the club being renowned for its community spirit, often times feeling like an extending family with its members, I knew they’d get behind the idea of doing something wonderful.
The club is run by my best friend, so I called Angus Rogers to see how we could help Ayva and her family take their minds off this awful tragedy. I suggested that we as a club could try raise some funds for a fantastic family day out - or even at a push, get them to Disneyland Paris for a few days away!
The response already for this very worthy cause is amazing, and we are forever grateful for your contribution. Hopefully we’ll smash our target and get to send Ayva and her family away for a few days for a truly unforgettable experience.
Thank you."
