Support The Cove Center for Grieving Children
Donation protected
Friends, family, and colleagues,
I’m excited to share that I recently joined the Board of Directors for The Cove Center for Grieving Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope and healing to grieving children, teens, and their families. Since its founding in 1995 in Guilford, CT, The Cove has supported hundreds of families across Connecticut through family group programs, virtual sessions for teens and young adults, a male caregiver group, and its annual bereavement camp—all offered at no cost to participants.
While I haven’t personally experienced the loss of a parent or immediate family member, I’ve witnessed the profound challenges that come with grief, particularly for children. I’m passionate about mental health and ensuring that grieving children have the resources and support they need to navigate their loss. Joining The Cove’s board felt like the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community.
My ask: The board is committed to raising $20,000 to expand The Cove’s programs and reach even more grieving children and families across Connecticut. If you’re able, I hope you’ll consider making a donation to help us achieve this goal. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports initiatives like Camp Compassion and family support programs that provide critical resources and a sense of hope to those in need.
If you have any questions about The Cove or want to learn how to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to share more about this incredible organization and its mission.
About The Cove
At The Cove Center for Grieving Children, our mission is to provide hope and healing for grieving children and teens and their families, along with training for the professionals who work with them. The Cove offers family and school-based programs using peer support groups to help children, teens, and families process unresolved grief after the death of a loved one.
Founded in Guilford, Connecticut, in 1995, The Cove has grown from serving six families in its first year to supporting hundreds of grieving children and family members through regular group sessions. In addition to our seven sites across the state, The Cove’s outreach efforts touch over 1,200 individuals annually through community education, professional training, consultation, and referrals.
Thank you for your support in making a difference for these families.
