Hi folks, my name is Di, and my longtime family friend, Perry Evans, passed away recently, after a short, unexpected illness, leaving his beloved son, Rory, an orphan at 15. Rory’s beautiful mum, Dani, passed away 3 yrs ago from cancer, so it’s been double tragedy for young Rory. We are all absolutely heartbroken for Rory to lose both parents so close together. So, I’ve decided to set up this Gofundme account with the aim to raise some much-needed funds for Rory and his extended family to help out with all the household costs, education, funeral expenses and whatever else he needs to help him stay in his family home without his beloved mum & dad, for as long as he can. Perry’s brother, Jason & his wife Vicki, have selflessly made the huge decision to pack up their lives in Tasmania and come back to Victor Harbor, South Australia, to look after Rory, but as you can imagine, the costs involved with this alone are considerable as they will both have to give up their current employment and find new work here. Perry’s sister, Sandy, has also been here from Sydney (and will continue to be there when needed), to help out, along with Rory’s sisters and grandfather. The selflessness of all of them to put their lives on hold for young Rory for the foreseeable future has not been lost on any of us. Without them, Rory would most likely become a ward of the state and lose his family home, which is all he has ever known. Rory is incredibly lucky to have such wonderful family & friends supporting him through one of the saddest times of his young life. Unfortunately though, the bills and expenses will still keep coming in, and if we can help ease that pressure, even just a little, it will help immensely. So, if you can find it in your heart to help young Rory out financially, I would be ever so grateful, as would he and the family. Doesn’t matter if it’s only $5, it all adds up.
