"Strive not be of success, but rather to be of value"- Albert Einstein
And that is exactly what I want to do, be of value. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to travel to a foreign country and participate in mission work. This experience has completely changed my life and has helped my to become who I am today. The passion I feel for volunteer work brings something to my heart I have never felt before. With that being said, I hope to continue giving my service both locally and internationally.
I have recently been accepted into the International Volunteer Headquarters Program in Muizenburg South Africa. Here I will be working with the Surf Outreach program for five weeks starting August 3rd! The surf outreach program is an after school program in which volunteers facilitate local children in learning how to surf, while teaching them valuable life skills. Volunteers on the Surf Outreach project work with children aged between 9 and 15 years old, who come from disadvantaged backgrounds where poverty, abuse and violence is not uncommon. Surf Outreach volunteers provide a positive influence to these children and help build their self-confidence by providing them with an opportunity to spend their free time in a healthy and productive way.that teaches the local kids how to surf.
This opportunity is once in a lifetime, and I am reaching out to you for help! The trip unfortunately comes with many expenses such as a flight, lodging, meals, vaccines and so on. I will be saving as much money as I can over these next few weeks. But, I was hoping to not only save money for my expenses, but to save a little extra to bring for both the Teaching and Surf Program.
ANY donation will help and is greatly appreciated. A single dollar can go a long way! Thank you in advance for your love and support, I will not let any of you down!
