SUPPORT THE DEFENDERS OF LIFE!!
While the, KICHWA, Indigenous people of Moretecocha in the Ecuadorian Amazon fight to protect and conserve their sacred territories and intangible areas by defending and rejecting extractive companies such as mining, oil and logging, the indigenous people are receiving major death threats from colonial government.
Currently, the company PLUS PETROL in the Indigenous territory of Moretecocha is intensely entering, illegally, without prior & informed consultation…it is violating the rights of nature of the Indigenous peoples, which is why we seek support from everyone, including, Organizations, NGOs and Foundations.
The Native people of the Amazon are fighting climate change, risking their lives daily and now they need our SUPPORT.
We call on the international community to support forest guardians and help provide them with financial resources to build a space where they can gather the youth to continue passing on important ancestral knowledge and traditions.
The Ruya Samay project is more about the protection of the living jungle of the Moretecocha people, it focuses to conserve all the territories and intangible sacred points, we fight for the forest who works to maintain a healthy life for all living beings in the world.
RUYA SAMAY is a project for the reforestation and conservation of medicinal plants located in the South Central Amazon of Ecuador on the Conambo River in the territory of the Kichwa people of the Moretecocha community. This geographical point is recognized as one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. It was created by 10 families from the community, as a response to their interest in maintaining their culture, their traditions, and to conserve their territory. With this project, the current ancestors want to share their experiences on the material and spiritual world, and facilitate a personal transformation to those who visit them, in addition to giving them an unforgettable life experience.
RUYA SAMAY, is completely isolated from roads, and the only way to access it is by air access with a plane. The forest around the territory is in a primary state that requires very high conservation, as well as the culture and the Moretecocha people themselves. The families invite you to learn from their ancestral wisdom of nature, which gives a very unique point of view on physical and spiritual healing.
Note From Wampurik:
Hello friends! Greetings from the heart of the Amazon jungle.
My name is Wampurik Gualinga, an Indigenous Kichwa leader, from the Moretecocha Pastaza Puyo community in Ecuador. To advance this project of reforestation and conservation of ancestral medicinal plants, we want to build a sustainable house for visiting tourists and volunteers.
The name of the project is called RUYA SAMAY in the Kichwa language. It means spirit and power of the tree with a more profound significance meaning Breath of the Tree. With this project, young Indigenous people want to share the life and wisdom of their ancestral experiences regarding the material and spiritual world and facilitate a personal transformation for those who visit this project of RUYA SAMAY in our village in the Amazon. In addition to giving our visitors and partners an unforgettable life experience, our family invites you to learn from the reforestation project of medicinal plants and gain ancestral wisdom of nature and the impact of medicinal plants on physical and spiritual healing.
The funds raised will be used to purchase materials necessary for building a sustainable and secure house for visitors and volunteers.
Thank you in advance for your crucial donations to support this vital conservation and reforestation project of RUYA SAMAY and for supporting our ability to preserve and share the knowledge of our ancestral medicinal plants.
