Ruth Holmes (Bottle Lady) Car Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Emily Holmes and I’m fundraising for my amazing mother, Ruth Holmes. When the bottle redemption center closed in our community, my mother began a bottle service. For the last 6 years, members of the community donate their returnables to her and she brings them to a redemption center in the next town over. Because of this, she has become a very valuable member of the community. This service supplements her social security by adding extra cash in her pocket as well as keeping plastic bottles out of landfills. 

Last November, she had open heart surgery and now there is a chance she has thyroid cancer. She needs something good and positive to happen. Her bottle service not only helps her financially but emotionally, physically and mentally. Members of our community asked me to make a GoFundMe to raise money for a car for her.

When I moved to Florida, that meant she no longer had access to a car. That was one of my biggest fears. She asked a friend to help her but it got to a point where they weren’t caring about how much she relies on her bottle service. She recently bought a cheap car but didn’t know how much work it needed. It breaks my heart.

Her birthday is at the end of September and I can’t think of a better present for her than a car. Please consider donating to my mother. You’ll take so much weight off of her shoulders and completely change her life.
