Rusty’s Bbq Smokehouse

Hi I am Angie, Rusty is my husband of 31 years. He has opened at least 12 restaurants for other people. His dream was to have his own. We bought the concession trailer in 2015 so he could start his barbecue business!!! We didn’t get it open till April 2016 because of the red tape. Finally because of  all the help from the Savannah Health Department we finally got everything approved. After 2 years we got an an amazing opportunity to have our own kitchen so we could expand our menu to southern home cooking.  That’s where I come in I had spent the last 25 years working in private clubs. I do not have a sophisticated palette. I’m a southern girl !!! We had together grown our business based on people wanting home cooked food & barbecue which is my husband’s passion.
Until about a 3 month ago the owner of the kitchen we were renting was in and out of the hospital. At the end of May we were forced out. We have been unable to get any help from the Small Business Administration or any other source. He was denied unemployment even though he has worked for the last 40 years as I have also. We have an opportunity for a new location. We always lived paycheck to paycheck. We have spent our savings to survive over a month of no income at all. We are hardworking people who have worked 60 hours a week each since we started our business. We have people calling us everyday asking when we are going to reopen.
