Rusty Graduated from Poplar Bluff in 2007, and he married his beautiful wife Beverly in April of this year on their 10 year anniversary. Which officially gave him Kylee as a stepdaughter.

Early in Aug 2022, Rusty wasn’t feeling well and was being treated for pneumonia. 4 weeks after multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids, he kept feeling worse and was taken to the emergency room. They quickly learned that he had a 4.5 mass on his left lung, so they thought it was lung cancer. It was metastatic, and they found more cancer in his lymph nodes, spine, and ribs, along with a fracture. They did a biopsy and found out it was a rare form of cancer called NUT carcinoma. Rusty and his family are now home on hospice. He tried a round of immunotherapy in the hospital, but Chemo wasn't an option due to the risk of bleeding. The cancer is very aggressive and fast moving. It's now in most of his bones. Rusty has asked not to know the doctor's opinions on how long he has here with his family.
