Help Feed the Local Medical Community Heroes!
The local medical community are on the front lines of this pandemic. These men and women are working day and night to make sure our community remains safe.
In times like this we believe it's important to show appreciation to the heroes saving lives. We want to give back to the medical community by providing lunch, or dinner and dessert from our family bakery and cafe, Rustika Cafe & Bakery.
Our goal is to provide food to the entire staff of 100+ for 20 shifts over the next few weeks, or until we beat this!! I know times are tough for most people right now, but it is time to pull together and be stronger than ever!
My parents started Rustika Cafe and Bakery 26 years ago when we moved to Houston from Mexico City and with everything going on, they have temporarily closed their dining room.
It's been a struggle keeping the business afloat and maintaining our staff so we are finding new creative ways to stay in business. We are delivering frozen goods to households to make sure everyone can do their part in “Staying Home” and flattening the curve.
Now we want to collaborate with the community to give back to the nurses, doctors, and staff at different hospitals in the area. We will are delivering to LBJ, Ben Taub, Methodist, MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann, and more! If you have any suggestions, please let us know.
It will cost approximately $900 per day to provide food for all staff members. We are hoping to deliver food two to three times per week, maybe even more! Just $3.25 will be enough to provide dessert and $9.50 for a full meal. You can also sponsor half a delivery for $450 or a full delivery for $900. We will happily promote your business or company with this sponsorship.
We will not be making a profit from this. All proceeds will go towards paying our employees, food costs, and keeping the business running. This is just the start.
