Support for Russell's family in difficult times

Russell Short, just 56, left this world far too soon.

His sudden passing has left an enormous hole in the lives of those who loved him — especially his partner of 28 years, Caroline, and their two sons, Nelson and Merlin.

Russell had a rare gift for making people feel seen, supported, and uplifted. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. He left a lasting impact on countless people throughout his life, both professionally and personally, and will be deeply missed by so many.

As his family now navigates this heartbreaking loss, they are also facing a difficult legal and financial reality. Due to the complexities of residency and legal status, Caroline is not entitled to any inheritance and is now left without the support Russell worked so hard to provide.

Caroline, an English teacher, is doing her best to cover the costs of the boys’ education, the mortgage, and the many unexpected fees related to Russell’s passing — but the challenges ahead are significant.
